  • Overview

    The IT Lead SQL is responsible for working closely with Global Data Center and ERP teams with regard to database configuration, maintenance and integration. The position will offer design recommendations based on best practices and efficiencies. The goal is to ensure supported applications perform and are available based on internal SLA’s and IT Quality Agreements.


    • Work closely with Global Data Center and ERP teams with regards to database configuration, maintenance and integration to offer recommendations on design based on best practices and efficiencies
    • Analyze and recommend database improvements on long-term capacity plans and growth
    • Contribute to development, testing and maintaincen of disaster recovery plans
    • Understand management of VM hosts and guests
    • Assist with diagnosis and resolution of issues related to ERP and third-party applications
    • Provide documentation and support for systems audits
    • Assist in planning for JDE E1 and associated systems upgrades and updates by performing analysis providing impact statements
    • Database (Microsoft SQL Server):
      1. Transaction and performance analysis
      2. Knowledge of backup and recovery plan for databases
      3. Develop and test methods to restore data across environments
      4. Define roles and set security permissions for servers and databases
      5. Experience in administering Microsoft SQL database for JDE E1 9.2.x
      6. Experience with configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, including replication publications and distributions
      7. Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
      8. Analyze issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
      9. Coordinate and support maintenance including, but not limited to: Log file management, Index management and Row compression
    • Data Center:
      1. Understanding of vSphere, vSAN and other VMware products and platforms
      2. Understanding of network engineering with working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks and operating systems
    • Day and overnight travel up to 25% may be required to domestic & international locations


    Education and Experience

    • BS or BA degree strongly preferred
    • MCSA: SQL Server certification required
    • Minimum 5 years Microsoft SQL Server administration experience required
    • Experience working with JDE E1 with multiple pathcodes and datasources is strongly preferred
    • Experience working in a FDA regulated business preferred
