  • Overview

    The primary focus of the Finance Assistant is to obtain the Finance Statements, maintain and update all transactions in this ERP by weekly processes of invoicing, purchasing, inventories, payments, collections, banks, ledger and reporting to Local Directors and to Corporate in USA.

    Additionally, the Finance Assistant is responsible for checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures. Record, store, access, and/or analyze JDE’s financial information. Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.

    The Finance Assistant is responsible for completing period-end closing procedures and reports as specified. Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures. Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved. Prepare consolidated deposits received by customers. Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all account variances.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyzes accounting documents for accuracy and completeness.
    • Uses automated systems to input data, reconcile accounts including bank accounts and respond to inquiries.
    • Verifies and compiles data and prepares moderately complex financial reports and analysis.
    • Financial statement analysis and interpretation. Capable to identify material variances, action plan creation and follow up.
    • Performs analysis of specified accounts, interplant balances and unbilled transactions. Maintains close, documented follow-up of assigned accounts to ensure appropriate resolution.
    • Prepares accruals, financial statements, posts to journals, ledgers and other accounting records.
    • Reviews and processes expense reports as well as performs various analysis on expenses.
    • Assist in the analysis of annual budget, including determination of processes, documents, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • Prepares and generates outstanding account reports and billing. May perform data entry to applicable databases and/or spreadsheets.
    • Support payroll and reconcile all payroll related accounts and assists in the review of the payroll computation.
    • May gather credit and/or reference information. Leads research and collection of duplicate deductions. Collects delinquent accounts receivable.
    • May lead special projects or team functions.
    • Financial forecast calculation and interpretation.
    • Reconcile Internal and External invoices against what is reported to the US or Local Country requirements.
    • Mitigate IRS / Local Country penalty risk

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

     

    • Bachelor degree required
    • Minimum 4 years experience managing JD Edwards in Finance Area preferred
    • Certified Public Account preferred
    • Knowledge of local GAAP / IFRS, BPC or another recognized ERP system (i.e. SAP) preferred
    • Solid understanding of CDFI and related IRS or Local Country requirements
    • Experience with currency restatement and rate management
    • Understanding of Fixed Assets and Depreciation
    • Ability to get Visa to travel to USA

    • Proficiency in the use of business operational software (Oracle JDE, SAP) is preferred
    • Travel may be required internationally up to 5%, candidate must be able to travel outside of the Mexico, especially to United States, without restrictions.
